Make Extra Cash with a “Side-Hustle”

Spare cash is a wonderful thing. It can help you buy extras after your regular income takes care of your monthly expenses. It can help you get out of all sorts of financial ruts as well.

If you want to boost your earnings, there are a number of things that you can try. Getting spare cash doesn’t have to be something that’s hard for you.

Get a Part-Time Job

Getting a part-time gig can do a lot if you need extra cash. In the old days, you didn’t have many options other than applying for retail positions at your local shopping mall or applying for server positions at nearby dining establishments. But these days there are lots of other opportunities including delivery services like Amazon Flex, grocery delivery Shipt, Uber Eats, and other delivery services. These services don’t require that you have a nice vehicle or that you have as much interaction with customers as you would with Lyft or Uber.

Another new one is charging scooters. There is a new company that rents out scooters called Lime Scooters these scooters are electric and therefore require charging. So someone needs to collect them every night and recharge them so there is an opportunity for you to be that “someone”.

Wash Cars

You can make good money by washing people’s cars. It is relatively simple to get started. You can contact people through Facebook local groups. The materials required are very minimal and you can go to people’s homes and use their water and electricity and just bring a bucket, soap, sponges and a vacuum.

Hold a Yard Sale

Garage sales can be terrific for people who want to quickly get more cash. You can host a garage sale in front of your home on the weekend. Sell items that no longer serve any purpose to you. You may want to get rid of jackets that are too small, toys that your children no longer like, and musical instruments that you no longer play. On the flip side, you can go to garage/yard sales and buy stuff and resell it on eBay. This works because eBay is a large marketplace where you might find a customer that wouldn’t be available in the smaller local market. It is also possible to find stuff locally that the current owner isn’t aware that it is more valuable than they know.

Rent out Stuff

These days you can actually rent out your stuff.  AirBnB allows you to rent out a spare room, other companies let you rent out your car, rent out your RV, rent out your boat, or even rent out a parking spot. So rather than having your stuff just sit around gathering dust put it to work for you!

Sell Your Gold Jewelry

Gold jewelry pieces are striking. They also tend to have a lot of value. If you want to get a bit of spare money, you should think about learning how to sell gold jewelry items that you own. You can take gold jewelry pieces to a local pawn shop. If you determine that the figure they are willing to pay you is fitting, then you can proceed from there and walk out with some extra cash.

Recycling

Cans that are made out of aluminum seem pretty worthless to most people. They’re pretty easy to find, too. If you want to get your hands on some more cash, you should think about turning to the universe of aluminum can recycling. Recycling aluminum cans is a pretty straightforward and swift thing. It’s not something that’s stressful at all, either. Copper is also valuable and relatively easy to find. If you’re diligent, you may actually be able to make a lot of money on your aluminum/copper recycling efforts.
